I'm Carol Anne, therapist, clinic owner and lymphatic educator with more than 20 years' experience across the therapy industry.
Like many therapists, I originally trained in Manual Lymphatic Drainage but my understanding of lymphatic conditions changed when it became personal. When my mum underwent breast cancer treatment including lymph node removal, I realised that although I knew the technique, I didn't understand lymphoedema deeply enough to answer her questions or support her in the way I wanted to.
That experience changed the direction of my education and eventually my clinical practice. Over the years I've gone on to work extensively with clients living with lymphoedema and lipoedema. I've seen textbook presentations, clients who have been misinformed about their condition and people whose symptoms don't fit neatly into one diagnostic box. That work has reinforced something I now teach throughout this masterclass:
